Since March 2017, New Partners has been producing and distributing clean, renewable energy from three solar arrays on commercial buildings. They are now distributing $25,000 per year—in $20-30 monthly utility billing credits—to 100 low-income families. Supported by Nixon Peabody’s pro bono initiative, New Partners has recently embarked on a second phase to scale the program, with the objective of cutting in half the utility bills of several hundred additional affordable housing tenants throughout the nation’s capital.
